 The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, the Edinboro Area Historical Society and the Hurry Hill Maple Farm Museum Association cordially invite you to attend the dedication of the historical roadside marker honoring Virginia Sorensen, her Newbery award-winning book, Miracles on Maple Hill and the maple syrup industry in northwestern Pennsylvania.

 You are also invited to join us for pure maple ice cream sundaes following the ceremony. There will be an opportunity to meet the late author’s family and friends, local people who served as characters in the book, and to see and hold the Newbery Medal. The Edinboro Library will also extend hours that day for the special Miracles on Maple Hill exhibit from 9 am to 5 pm.

A major event of the 175th Anniversary of the Incorporation of Edinboro will be the dedication of a Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission historical marker honoring Virginia Sorensen, her book, Miracles on Maple Hill, and the maple syrup industry in northwestern Pennsylvania. Ceremonies will take place at the Culbertson Stables 413 West Plum (Edinboro Branch Library on Route 6N) beginning at 2:00 pm and the program will include music, special guests, and the unveiling of the marker. Free maple sundaes will be served after the dedication. Edinboro Branch Library will be open 9:00 am – 5:00 pm for the Miracles Display.
